I support this event because my mum was diagnosed with breast cancer eight years ago. It was an incredibly stressful time for our family, especially as we were also in the middle of buying a house and I couldn’t always be there with her as much as I wanted.

These days, almost every family knows someone who is fighting or has fought cancer. As a community, I believe it’s so important to support research and initiatives that help people facing this disease and work towards making the journey a little easier for patients and their families.

Supporting my mum through breast cancer was one of the most meaningful experiences of my life, and the opportunity to share that story and support other women and families going through similar journeys.

As a woman in business built on creating welcoming, supportive spaces to business partners and clients to help raise awareness, encourage meaningful conversations, and contribute to something bigger than ourselves.

Being part of a beautiful event like Bloom in Pink means more than simply participating, it reflects our commitment to giving back, building genuine connections, and supporting initiatives that make a positive difference. We are proud to stand alongside other local business women and local women to celebrate courage, inspire hope, and help create a future where no one faces breast cancer alone.

Last year I came along simply to support someone close to me. But after listening to the stories shared and seeing the impact breast cancer has on so many families, it really touched me.

When my close friend was diagnosed, I saw firsthand the fear, uncertainty and emotional rollercoaster that comes with hearing those words. It affects not only the person diagnosed but also everyone who loves them. That experience reminded me how important it is to talk about breast cancer openly, encourage regular check-ups and support one another through difficult times. Sometimes a conversation, a reminder or simply being there for someone can make a bigger difference than we realise.

For me, being involved is about showing up for people and standing behind something that truly matters. I've always believed that strong communities are built when we support each other, especially during life's toughest moments. As a business owner, I want my values to extend beyond the work I do every day. If being part of this event helps create awareness, encourages someone to get checked, or lets a person know they're not alone, then that's something I'm proud to be part of. It's about people, connection and making even a small difference where we can.
